According to a statement from the Saudi Arabian ministry of foreign affairs (MOFA), the Saudi government has allegedly started issuing electronic marine transit visas to travellers who arrive in the Kingdom on cruise ships.The MOFA’s online application system can be used to submit an application for an electronic maritime transit visa, which the ministry says will be provided to cruise passengers.
In addition, the visa application must be submitted after buying the cruise ticket in collaboration with the Red Sea Development Company, as required by government regulations. Information about the application must be sent to the Foreign Ministry’s Visa Services Platform. Once the application has been submitted, the Saudi Embassy’s digital platform will be used to handle the visa process and issue the visa.

• A 96-hour transit visa to Saudi Arabia costs SAR 300. (about USD 79)

Saudi Arabia Transit Visa Requirements
The following is some of the documentation required to apply for a transit visa to Saudi Arabia:
• An authentic passport that is still valid for at least six months.
• A visa for permanent residence issued by the country from which you are applying.
• A passport-sized, coloured photo.
• A properly filled-out and signed application for a Saudi visa.
• The Saudi law declaration that has been formally signed.
• A confirmation of your ticket purchase attesting to your overnight stay in Saudi Arabia.
• Printing out a visa application and submitting it via the Enjaz e-portal.
• All guests must fill out the Registration Immunization Information Form in order to enter the Kingdom. Aviation staff, diplomats, and visitors on official visas are all exempt.
